(ENG) Digital Block Prints arose from the fascination of printing on an old press with wooden and lead letters during my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts (AKI) in the 1980s. In addition, there are the influences of De Stijl, H.N. Werkman and by artists such as Malevich and Lissitzky.
Through the LetterMPress app, I was able to bring back a bit of that feeling from the past on the iPad.

(NL) Digital Block Prints is ontstaan vanuit de fascinatie van drukken op een oude pers met houten -en loden letters tijdens mijn studie aan de Academie voor beeldende kunst (AKI) in de jaren 80 van de vorige eeuw. Daarnaast zijn er de invloeden van de Stijl, H.N. Werkman en van kunstenaars als Malevich en Lissitzky.
